Enriching your yoga practice with the 5 Elemental Theory can provide a deeper understanding of ourselves and help us connect with the natural world. My 6-week series into the elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) - water, wood, fire, earth, and metal - offers a exploration of each element, including its associated emotion, Yin postures, breathwork, and pressure points.
Through these practices, you will learn how to move energy in the subtle body and align yourself with the natural rhythms and cycles of the seasons. Each week, we will delve into a different element, exploring its unique qualities and how it manifests in our physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies.
By working with the elements in this way, you will gain a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the world. You will learn how to cultivate balance and harmony in your life, tapping into the wisdom of TCM to enhance your overall health and well-being.
This series is suitable for all levels of practitioners, from beginners to experienced yogis. Whether you are looking to deepen your practice, explore new techniques, or simply connect with like-minded individuals, this series offers something for everyone. Come join us on this transformative journey and discover the power of the elements in your life.
The Elemental Alchemy method combines Yin Yoga with Chinese 5 Element Theory, which uses nature to help control and nourish the physical and energetic layers we contain. Over the course, we learn how to align with nature to move toward our goals and become more present.
Each class ends with worksheets and a calendar of activities to complete over the week to help embody the specific element. The series is open to all levels of yoga practitioners, and no prior experience is necessary.
